Health Legislation Amendment Act 1983 No. 54 of 1983 - SECT 49

49. (1) Section 66 of the Principal Act is amended-

         (a)  by omitting ''Medical'' from sub-section (1) and substituting
''Medicare''; and

   (b)  by adding at the end of sub-section (2) the following words ''and such
        other organizations and associations as the Minister considers
        appropriate''.

(2) The Medical Benefits Advisory Committee established under section 66 of
the Principal Act and in existence immediately before the commencement of this
section continues in existence under the name Medicare Benefits Advisory
Committee as if it had been established under section 66 of that Act as
amended by this Act and a reference in any law of the Commonwealth other than
this Act to the Medical Benefits Advisory Committee shall be construed as a
reference to that Committee as so continued in existence and as constituted
from time to time.
