LIQUOR CONTROL ACT 1988 - SECT 152NB
152NB . Object of Part
(1) The primary object
of this Part is to minimise, in relation to areas with a concentration of
licensed premises —
(a)
harm, or the potential for harm, to people, or any group of people, in the
areas; and
(b)
adverse effects on the safety or welfare of people, or any group of people, in
the areas; and
(c)
adverse effects on the atmosphere, ambience, character or pleasantness of the
areas; and
(d)
public disturbances and public disorder in the areas.
(2) The references in
subsection (1) to harm, the potential for harm, adverse effects, public
disturbances and public disorder include references to harm, the potential for
harm, adverse effects, public disturbances and public disorder whether or not
arising from, or relating to, the use of liquor or any violence associated
with the use of liquor.
(3) In carrying out
functions under this Part, a person must have regard to the primary object of
this Part.
