AUSTLII NATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME

The AustLII National Training Programme in Internet Legal Research, presented in conjunction with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) at UNSW, is being held in Sydney at UNSW on Wednesday, 24 May 2006 and on Wednesday 28 June 2006. Courses in other cities are are scheduled when there is sufficient demand. The full day course provides a systematic introduction to Australian and international legal materials on the Internet, with the emphasis on those materials which are available for free access. The wealth of free-access digital resources that have become available in recent years make them indispensable both to those who depend on free access, and to those who also have access to the commercial legal publishers' services. NEW DATABASES

"Mental Health Review Board of Victoria 1987-" This database contains the full text of significant decisions of the Mental Health Review Board of Victoria from 1987. See: <http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/cases/vic/VMHRB/>.

"Australasian Law Reform Library"
This library includes databases of law reform reports of all permanent Australian and New Zealand law reform bodies available on AustLII and NZLII. Not all reports are searchable as yet. Catalog and Websearch enables searches of law reform materials on other websites as does Law on Google.

"Administrative Review Council"
This database contains publications from the Administrative Review Council and currently contains issues of the Council's bulletin "Admin Review".

"Australian Capital Territory Law Reform Commission" This database contains publications from the ACT Law Reform Commission and currently contains the full text of all of the Commission's Reports from No 1 (1991) through No 20 (2003).

This database contains publications from the Tasmania Law Reform Institute and currently contains reports, issues papers and research papers from 2002 through 2005.

NEW TOOL: UPDATE STATUS FOR JOURNALS

To make it easier to check on the update status of our ever-expanding collection of law journals, we have provided a new tool - Update Status for Journals - which enables users to see at a glance the most recent issue from each of AustLII's journal databases.

AUSTLII TOOLBAR UPDATED

The AustLII Toolbar has been updated to include the many new databases which have been added to the AustLII website during 2006.

The Toolbar is available for the Netscape v7.x web browser, the Mozilla Suite v1.x web browser, the Mozilla Firefox v1.x web browser and the Microsoft Internet Explorer v5+ web browser.

The Toolbar allows you to search AustLII from any website page. It includes the AustLII drop-down menu which lists links for most of the major category materials for all Australasian jurisdictions. The toolbar also has customisable buttons which link to the other Legal Information Institutes.
