NATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME IN INTERNET LEGAL RESEARCH

AUSTLII SEARCH IMPROVED

The AustLII search facility, especially phrase searches, has been significantly improved by the recent reduction in the number of words on the common words list.

A "common word" is a word that is judged so common that it is not indexed at all (eg "the", "and", "he", "she") and so is ignored in searches. The new list of common words used by AustLII may be found at <http://www.austlii.edu.au/austlii/help/sino_common.html>.

NEW CASES DATABASE

"Anti-Discrimination Tribunal of Tasmania" The full text decisions of the Anti-Discrimination Tribunal of Tasmania, as selected by the Tribunal, are now available on AustLII. Decisions from 2000 onwards are included in the database. See <http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/cases/tas/TASADT/>.

LAW VIA THE INTERNET 2004
