     Law the Internet Conference 2003 - Registration available now

LAW VIA THE INTERNET 2003

AustLII (Australasian Legal Information Institute) will host the fifth Law via the Internet conference on 26-28 November 2003. It will be held at the University of Technology, Sydney and the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Law via the Internet 2003 will present both submitted and invited papers. The conference proper will take place on 27-28 November. An international meeting of legal information institutes will take place on 26 November, and tutorials on Internet legal research will also be offered on the 26th.

CALL FOR PAPERS

This year we hope to have a particular focus on the following areas: law of developing countries on the Internet; use of the Internet in the Courtroom; social impact of access to legal information; legislation systems; search techniques for legal information; and innovative research uses of online legal data. Acceptance of papers closing soon.

Registration is now open for the conference. A registration form is available from the website and can be submitted electronically or by post. Early registration is recommended since the last conference was sold out. See http://www.austlii.edu.au/austlii/conference/regoform.html

Boolean Operators - using parentheses ( )

A search may be entered in "this Boolean query" (option in the drop down menu) using logical and proximity connecting words (and, or, near). Always use parentheses if the search includes more than one type of connectors eg

contempt near (radio or television)
terrorism near (hostage or bomb)
