249D Protection from suits etc. in relation to action taken under s 249B
(1) No action, suit or proceeding lies against—
(a) a financial institution;
or
(b) an officer or agent of the institution acting in the course of the
officer’s or agent’s employment or agency;
in relation to any action taken
by the institution, officer or agent under a notice under section 249Bor in
the mistaken belief that action was required under the notice.
(2) If a
financial institution, or an officer or agent of the institution, gives
information under section 249B, the institution, officer or agent is taken,
for the purposes of sections 250and 252, not to have been in possession of
that information at any time.
