NORTHERN TERRITORY (SELF-GOVERNMENT) ACT 1978 - SECT 17
Dates of elections(1) A general election of members of the Legislative Assembly shall be held on a date determined by the Administrator.
(2) The period from the first meeting of the Legislative
Assembly after a general election of members of the Assembly to the date of
the next succeeding general election shall not be more than 4 years.
