NATIONAL HEALTH ACT 1953 - SECT 129
Refusal to be sworn or give evidence(1) A person appearing as a witness before a Committee shall not refuse to be sworn or to make an affirmation or to answer a question relevant to the proceedings put to the person by a member of the Committee.
Penalty: Imprisonment for 6 months or 10 penalty units, or both.
(2) A statement or disclosure made by a witness to a Committee
is not admissible in evidence against the witness in civil or criminal
proceedings in a court except in a prosecution for giving false testimony in
the Committee's proceedings.
