[Brochure & Registration Form]

This one day course provides a systematic introduction to the full range of Australian and international legal materials on the Internet, with an emphasis on those materials accessible for free, techniques for optimising search queries and location of specific types of material. The huge variety of free-access digital resources that have become available in recent years make them indispensable both for those who depend on free access and also those who also have access to commercial legal systems. This round is taught by senior AustLII personnel including Professor Graham Greenleaf and executive director Philip Chung, online legal search experts of international standing. It will enable you to keep yourself up-to-date; it also offers insights in to little-known sources ('secret treasures'), newly developed search functionality on AustLII and other platforms, and the research significance of the differing document structures underpinning various collections.
