Getting Involved

What you can do!

There are many things you can do to participate in the People's Movement to assist to advance the reconciliation process. Commitments to reconciliation will ensure that relationships and understanding between Indigenous communities and the wider community improves. This will ensure a brighter future for all Australians.

You can become involved in local activities, form a local group, attend a learning circle, facilitate a learning circle, discuss possibilities of partnerships and commitments to reconciliation within your community and workplace, identify opportunities to promote your group's commitment to reconciliation, improve your understanding of Indigenous issues and cultures, assist to raise an awareness of Indigenous cultures and histories, become informed about issues affecting Indigenous peoples, participate and organise activities for National Reconciliation Week.

The Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation produced a book entitled 'Ideas for Action' which can be found in the Council on-line library. This shows some good examples of work being done towards reconciliation including partnerships and agreements.
