MENTAL HEALTH ACT 1996 - SECT 24
24 . Functions of Registrar
Without limiting any
other function given or delegated to the Registrar under this Act, it is the
function of the Registrar —
(a) to
keep, in accordance with the regulations, particulars of every involuntary
patient; and
(b) to
ensure that any review required by this Act to be carried out in respect of a
person by the Board is brought before the Board at an appropriate time; and
(c) to
receive any notice, report, or other thing that is to be given to the Board
and arrange for it to be dealt with as soon as is practicable; and
(d) to
ensure that any notice, report, or other thing that is to be given by the
Board is given in accordance with this Act and as soon as is practicable; and
(e) to
keep a record of applications made to, and notices given to or by, the Board;
and
(f) to
cause to be made, and keep, accurate minutes of proceedings at meetings of the
Board; and
(g) to
keep a record of decisions of the Board and keep copies of the reasons given
for those decisions; and
(h)
generally to be the executive officer of the Board.
