ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION ACT 1988 - SECT 8
8 . Special investigators
(1) The Commission may
appoint a person who is or has been a barrister or solicitor of the Supreme
Court, or the Supreme Court of another State or Territory, of not less than 5
years’ standing and practice to be a special investigator to
investigate, and report to the Commission on, an allegation, or allegations or
class of allegations, specified —
(a) in
the instrument appointing the special investigator; or
(b) in a
written notice given to the special investigator by the Commission.
(2) A special
investigator shall perform his or her functions on such terms as the
Commission and the special investigator agree.
(3) The terms referred
to in subsection (2) may include terms as to the use by the special
investigator of the services of officers of the Commission and seconded
officers.
