Western Australian Consolidated Regulations (1) Where an
application for the grant, renewal or transfer of a vehicle licence is
received and, under a notice given pursuant to section 29(1) of the Act,
the grant, renewal or transfer, as the case may be, of that licence is
prohibited unless and until the vehicle has been examined and a certificate of
inspection has been issued, the Director General shall
either —
(a)
examine the vehicle; or
(b)
require the applicant to produce to the Director General a certificate of
inspection issued by an authorised vehicle examiner not more than
3 months before the date of the application.
(2) Where an
application for the grant or renewal of a vehicle licence is received and
subregulation (1) does not apply, the Director General may, if the
Director General thinks necessary —
(a)
examine the vehicle; or
(b)
require the applicant to cause the vehicle to be examined by an authorised
vehicle examiner,
and shall not grant or
renew the licence if the vehicle is not found to be such as may be licensed
under regulation 9.
