Western Australian Consolidated Regulations (1) In this
regulation —
Ord River Irrigation Area means that portion of
the State that is north of latitude 17°S and east of longitude
127°E.
(2) A person who takes
citrus fruit or stone fruit into the Ord River Irrigation Area from another
part of the State during the period beginning on 1 April and ending on
30 November in any year unless the fruit is certified —
(a) as
being from a part of the State that is free from Mediterranean fruit fly (
Ceratitis capitata ); or
(b) as
having been disinfested in an approved manner,
commits an offence.
Penalty: $5 000.
(3) For the purposes
of regulation 16(1) —
(a) the
Ord River Irrigation Area is a specified portion of the State; and
(b)
Mediterranean fruit fly ( Ceratitis capitata ) is a specified disease.
