Western Australian Consolidated Regulations (1) Where pursuant to
a direction of the Commission a poll is to be conducted at a meeting the
returning officer shall allow an eligible producer who is entitled to do so
under subregulation (2) to lodge an absent vote by post.
(2) An eligible
producer who applies to the returning officer not less than 7 days before
the date fixed for the meeting at which a poll is to be taken and satisfies
the returning officer —
(a) that
he or she resides more than 30 km from the place at which the meeting is to be
convened; or
(b) that
because —
(i)
of his or her ill health;
(ii)
of his or her absence from the State on the day of the
meeting; or
(iii)
he or she will be travelling at the time of the meeting,
he or she will not be
able to attend the meeting,
is entitled to lodge
an absent vote by post.
(3)
Regulations 17 to 23 with such modifications as are necessary for that
purpose apply to and in relation to absent voting by post as though the votes
were taken by postal ballot.
