Western Australian Consolidated Regulations (1) The master of a
vessel must not cause or permit any ballast to be discharged from the vessel
into the waters of a port contrary to a direction given to the master by the
harbour master.
Penalty: $5 000.
(2) Without limiting
subregulation (1), a direction under that subregulation may
require —
(a) the
ballast to be inspected or tested before or while the ballast is discharged;
or
(b) the
ballast to be discharged in places, or in quantities,
in accordance with the
direction.
