Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) A member of the
Police Force is to use the power to caution in preference to laying a charge
against a young person unless because of the number of previous offences with
which the person has been charged or for which the person has been dealt with
under this Part it would be inappropriate only to give a caution.
(2) In deciding
whether the number of previous offences would make it inappropriate only to
give a caution for an offence, the seriousness of the offence and of previous
offences is to be taken into account.
