57D . Confidentiality of information given under s. 57C
(1) Subject to
subsection (2), a person, except with the express authority of WorkCover WA,
shall not have access to, inspect, or peruse any information given under
section 57C to WorkCover WA, and that information shall be treated as strictly
confidential and shall not, except for the purposes of this Act, be disclosed
to any person.
Penalty: $1 000.
(2) An employer may
request that information provided under section 57C, whether by him or an
insurer, in respect of compensation claimed by a worker from that employer be
disclosed to another insurer or prospective insurer, and subsection (1) does
not apply to the disclosure of information in accordance with that request.
