196 . Litigation guardians, rules about
(1) The arbitration
rules may provide that, if a child is a party or potential party to a
proceeding or proposed proceeding, an arbitrator may appoint a litigation
guardian to act on the child’s behalf.
(2) The arbitration
rules may provide that, if a party to a dispute is under a legal disability
(otherwise than because of being a child), an arbitrator may adjourn or defer
the proceeding or proposed proceeding until a litigation guardian is appointed
to act on the party’s behalf, whether under the
Guardianship and Administration Act 1990 or otherwise.
