Western Australian Consolidated ActsWhereas —
(1) the United Nations
Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods was adopted at
Vienna, Austria, on 10 April 1980 and was opened for signature and
also for accession on 11 April 1980; and
(2) it has been agreed
between the Commonwealth, the States and the Northern Territory that the
provisions of the Convention should, after it enters into force in respect of
Australia, have the force of law in the States and the Territories by virtue
of legislation enacted by the Parliaments of the respective States and the
Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory and by virtue of an Ordinance
of the Australian Capital Territory:
Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative
Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by
the authority of the same, as follows:
