SCHOOL EDUCATION ACT 1999 - SECT 38

38 .         Breaches of section 23

        (1)         A parent of a child of compulsory school age who is enrolled at a school must ensure that section 23 is complied with by the child.

        Penalty: $1 000.

        Note:         The Sentencing Act 1995 provides for sentencing options for an adult.

        (2)         A child of compulsory school age who is enrolled at a school must comply with section 23.

        Penalty: $10.

        Note:         The Young Offenders Act 1994 provides for how a court is to deal with a young person who has been found guilty of an offence.
