Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) In all cases of
reference to a master, a registrar, or to a special referee or arbitrator, the
master, registrar, or special referee or arbitrator shall, subject to rules of
court, have such authority, and conduct the reference in such manner, as the
Court or a judge may direct, and the special referee or arbitrator shall be
deemed an officer of the Court.
(2) The report or
award of the master, registrar, or special referee or arbitrator on any
reference shall, unless set aside by the Court or a judge, be equivalent to
the verdict of a jury.
(3) The remuneration
to be paid to a special referee or arbitrator to whom any matter is referred
under an order of the Court or a judge shall be determined by the Court or a
judge.
