SUPREME COURT ACT 1935 - SECT 50
50 . Question in civil matter may be referred to referee etc.
(1) Subject to the
rules of court, and to any right to have particular cases tried by jury, the
Court or a judge may refer to a master or a registrar or to a referee for
inquiry or report any question arising in any cause or matter, other than a
criminal proceeding.
(2) The report of the
master, registrar or referee may be adopted wholly or partially by the Court
or a judge, and, if so adopted, may be enforced as a judgment or order to the
same effect.
