SECURITY AND RELATED ACTIVITIES (CONTROL) ACT 1996 - SECT 5
5 . Police officers etc. not required to be licensed etc.
(1) While a person is
performing official duties as —
(a) a
member of the Commonwealth Defence Forces; or
(b) an
officer of a police force,
he or she is not
required to comply with Parts 3, 4, 5 and 6.
(2) While a person is
performing official duties as a public officer of the Commonwealth, of this
State or any other State, or of any Territory he or she is not required to
comply with Part 3, other than Division 3, or with Parts 4 and 5.
(3) In subsection (2)
public officer means a person who is employed by the Crown or by a body that
is an agent of the Crown.
