RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES ACT 1987 - SECT 35

35 .         Payment of rent by post-dated cheques etc. prohibited

                No person shall require a post-dated cheque or other negotiable instrument that is post-dated in payment of rent.

        Penalty: $1 000.
