Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) Before entering
upon the exercise of the duties of their respective offices the Commissioner,
the Deputy Commissioner and the Acting Commissioner shall each take an oath or
affirmation that he will faithfully and impartially perform the duties of his
office, and that he will not, except in accordance with this Act, divulge any
information received by him under this Act.
(2) The oath or
affirmation shall be administered by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly
or, if the office of Speaker is then vacant or the Speaker is by reason of
absence or incapacity unable to administer the oath or affirmation, by the
President of the Legislative Council but, if the office of President is vacant
or the President is by reason of absence or incapacity unable to administer
the oath or affirmation, the oath or affirmation shall be administered by such
person as is appointed by the Governor for the purpose.
