PROSTITUTION ACT 2000 - SECT 10
10 . Prohibition of certain sponsorships
(1) A person is not,
in Western Australia, to promote or publicize, or agree to promote or
publicize —
(a) any
person as a prostitute; or
(b) any
business involving prostitution,
under a contract, or
an arrangement (whether or not legally binding), under which a sponsorship is
provided, or to be provided, by another person.
(2) A person (whether
inside or outside Western Australia) is not to provide, or agree to provide,
in Western Australia a sponsorship under a contract or arrangement of a kind
referred to in subsection (1).
(3) In this section
—
sponsorship includes —
(a) a
scholarship, prize, gift or other like benefit; and
(b) any
financial arrangement (other than a bona fide contract of employment or a bona
fide contract for services) for directly promoting or publicizing a person or
business as referred to in subsection (1)(a) or (b) through any medium.
Penalty: $50 000.
