Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The chief
executive officer may, in writing, declare as high-level security work —
(a) a
prison service of a kind that requires a contract worker to deal directly with
prisoners except a prison service referred to in section 15M;
(b) work
that requires a contract worker to have access to information about prisoners;
or
(c) any
other work to be done by a contract worker that in the opinion of the chief
executive officer should be declared to be high-level security work.
(2) The chief
executive officer may amend a declaration.
(3) The chief
executive officer is to ensure that notice of a declaration or an amendment of
a declaration is published in the Gazette within 14 days after the day
the declaration or amendment occurs.
(4) The validity of a
declaration or an amendment of a declaration is not affected by failure to
publish the notice.
