Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The chief
executive officer may authorise a contract worker who holds a permit, to
perform any of the functions that —
(a) a
superintendent;
(b) a
prison officer; or
(c) an
other officer,
has under this Act
except a function referred to in section 15J.
(2) An authorisation
must be in writing and may be made subject to such conditions and limitations
specified in the authorisation as the chief executive officer thinks fit.
(3) A contract worker
is not to decide whether a prisoner may be detained in custody under
section 32(1)(a).
