shall in any manner influence any elector in giving his vote for the choice of
any person to be a member to serve in the Legislative Council or Legislative
Assembly; and if any person being a member of the Force shall offend herein he
shall forfeit a sum not less than $10 nor exceeding $200, to be recovered by
any person who shall first sue for the same by action in the Magistrates Court
to be commenced within 6 months after commission of the offence; but
nothing herein contained shall subject any member of the Force to any penalty
for any act done by him at or concerning any of the said elections in the
discharge of his duty.
