Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The Commission may
at any time and when so requested by the Minister shall appoint advisory
committees to assist it in the performance of its functions and duties.
(2) Subject to this
section, an advisory committee shall consist of such number of persons as are
appointed by the Commission.
(3) Subject to the
direction of the Commission an advisory committee may determine its own
procedures.
(4) The members of
advisory committees are entitled to be paid such remuneration and travelling
and other allowances as may be determined by the Minister on the
recommendation of the Minister for Public Sector Management 3 .
(5) In appointing
persons to be members of advisory committees under this section the
Commission —
(a)
shall, as far as is practicable, appoint persons who represent employers,
employees and persons having knowledge of or experience in occupational safety
and health; and
(b)
shall have regard to the desirability of having a reasonable number of men and
women, including persons of differing ethnic backgrounds and other groups with
special needs.
