MOTOR VEHICLE (THIRD PARTY INSURANCE) ACT 1943 - SECT 3R
3R . Issue of policies of insurance
[(1) deleted]
(2) No person other
than the Director General, on behalf of the Commission, shall issue any policy
of insurance under or for the purposes of this Act, and subject to this Act it
shall be the duty of the Commission to cause policies of insurance to be
issued under and for the purposes of this Act.
(3) Subject to the
provisions of section 4, the Director General shall issue policies of
insurance under this Act on behalf of and as agent for the Commission.
(4A) The Director
General shall at such times as are directed by the Commission remit to the
Commission the total amount of all insurance premiums received by it under
this Act together with such documents and information relating thereto as may
be prescribed.
(4B) The Director
General shall pay to the Treasurer at such times as are directed by the
Treasurer all amounts of duty payable under the Duties Act 2008 upon the
issue of the policies.
(4C) The Treasurer
shall pay all amounts received by him under subsection (4B) into the
Consolidated Account.
(5) Subject to the
approval of the Minister, the Commission shall determine the terms,
warranties, and conditions to be contained in policies of insurance under this
Act.
