MAGISTRATES COURT (CIVIL PROCEEDINGS) ACT 2004 - SECT 11
11 . Remedies that may be given
(1) The Court has such
powers as are incidental to and necessary for the exercise of the jurisdiction
conferred on it by section 6 and of the jurisdiction referred to in section 8.
(2) The Court may
grant any remedy or relief in respect of a claim within the jurisdiction
conferred by section 6 —
(a) that
may be claimed under that section or, in the case of a consumer/trader claim,
under section 7(3)(b); or
(b) that
the Supreme Court could grant if the claim had been made to that court.
(3) In the exercise of
the jurisdiction referred to in section 8, the Court may grant any remedy or
relief that is provided for by the written law that confers the jurisdiction
on the Court.
(4) If the Court
orders a person to do an act other than paying money, it may also order the
person to pay money in default of doing the act as ordered.
