Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The Supreme Court
(full bench) may admit a person as a lawyer if —
(a) the
Supreme Court (full bench) is satisfied that the person —
(i)
is eligible for admission to the legal profession; and
(ii)
is a fit and proper person to be admitted to the legal
profession;
and
(b) the
person takes an oath of office, or an affirmation of office, in the form
required by the Supreme Court.
(2) For the purposes
of subsection (1)(a), the Supreme Court (full bench) may rely on the
advice of the Board.
(3) The advice of the
Board may be contained in a compliance certificate.
(4) The Supreme Court
(full bench) may refuse —
(a) to
consider an application for admission if it is not made in accordance with the
admission rules; or
(b) to
admit the person if the person has not complied with the admission rules.
