LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1995 - SECT 9.60
9.60 . Regulations that operate as local laws
(1) The Governor may
make regulations that are to operate as if they were local laws for each
district to which they apply.
(2) Regulations under
this section may deal with any matter specified in Schedule 9.1.
(3) Regulations under
this section, other than those that only repeal or amend other regulations
under this section, are to contain a statement to the effect that they apply
as if they were local laws.
(4) A local government
is to administer any regulation made under this section to the extent that it
relates to any place where the local government may perform functions, as if
the regulation were a local law.
(5) Unless the
contrary intention appears, a reference to an offence against a local law
includes a reference to an offence against a regulation made under this
section.
(6) The existence of a
power to make regulations under this section in respect of a matter does not
imply that a local law cannot be made in respect of the matter.
