5.19 . Quorum for meetings
(1) The quorum for a
meeting of a council or committee is at least 50% of the number of offices
(whether vacant or not) of member of the council or the committee.
(2) Subsection (3)
applies despite subsection (1) if a council member is not present at any time
during a meeting of —
(a) the
council; or
(b) a
committee of which the council member is a member.
(3) The office held by
the council member must be disregarded for the purpose of determining the
quorum for the meeting at that time if the meeting is held during a period for
which the council member is entitled to parental leave under section 2.25(5B).
(4) Despite subsection
(3), the quorum for a meeting cannot be less than 2.
