LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1995 - SECT 4.92
4.92 . Postal votes, offences relating to
A candidate in an
election, or a person expressly authorised to act on behalf of a candidate in
connection with an election, who, in relation to the election —
(a)
applies undue influence or pressure on an elector to apply for a postal vote;
or
(b)
interferes with an elector while the elector is applying for a postal vote; or
(c)
takes custody of an envelope in which there is a postal vote; or
(d)
causes any other person, not being the elector whose vote is in the envelope,
to do anything referred to in paragraph (c),
commits an offence.
Penalty: $5 000 or imprisonment for one year.
