Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The functions of
the Advisory Board include —
(a)
considering and, if required by this Act, inquiring into any proposal made to
it under this Act that an order be made to do any or all of the matters in
section 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.18(1) or 2.18(3);
(b)
making recommendations to the Minister on those proposals;
(c)
carrying out any other inquiries the Minister may direct; and
(d)
considering whether as a consequence of any recommendation the Board proposes
to make to the Minister, the making of an order to do any or any other of the
matters in section 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.18(1) or 2.18(3) in
respect of a relevant district is or may be necessary.
(2) In
subsection (1)(d) —
relevant district means a district to which the
proposed recommendation relates or an adjoining district.
(3) If the Advisory
Board considers that the making of an order referred to in
subsection (1)(d) is or may be necessary, the Board is to consider or
inquire into the making of any such order as if it had received a proposal
that such an order be made.
What this Part is about
This Part describes the functions of a local government and deals with some
important issues that the performance of those functions may involve.
In particular —
(a)
Division 1 describes the general function of a local government and
contains some other general provisions;
(b)
Divisions 2 and 3 deal with legislative and executive functions
respectively;
(c)
Division 4 allows functions to be performed by regional local
governments.
