JUSTICES OF THE PEACE ACT 2004 - SECT 8
8 . Qualifications for appointment
A person is qualified
to be appointed as a JP if the person —
(a) is
an Australian citizen under the Australian Citizenship Act 1948 of the
Commonwealth 2 ; and
(b) is
enrolled as an elector for the Legislative Assembly in accordance with the
Electoral Act 1907 or for the House of Representatives in accordance with the
Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 .
