INTERPRETATION ACT 1984 - SECT 67
67 . Offences and proceedings for offences
(1) Offences are of 2
kinds: indictable offences and simple offences.
(1a) An offence
designated as a crime or as a misdemeanour is an indictable offence.
(2) An offence not
otherwise designated is a simple offence.
(3) The procedure for
prosecuting and dealing with offences is set out in the
Criminal Procedure Act 2004 .

not limit the operation of Part 3 of the Children’s Court of Western
Australia Act 1988 .
