INTERPRETATION ACT 1984 - SECT 26
26 . Citation of written laws
(1) Where a written
law is referred to, it shall be sufficient for all purposes to cite or refer
to that written law by —
(a) the
short title or the citation (if any) given to it or by which it was made
citable; or
(b) in
the case of an Act, the year in which it was passed and its number among the
Acts of that year.
(2) A provision of a
written law may be cited by reference to the Part, section, regulation, rule,
clause or other division of the written law in which the provision is
contained.
(3) The citation of or
reference to a written law is in all cases to be made in accordance with an
official version of the law under the Legislation Act 2021 .
