HUMAN REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGY ACT 1991 - SECT 53M
53M . Offence — collecting viable human embryo from body of woman
A person commits a
crime if the person removes a human embryo from the body of a woman, intending
to collect a viable human embryo.
Penalty: A fine of 600 penalty units or
imprisonment for 10 years or both.
Summary conviction penalty: A fine of 120 penalty
units or imprisonment for 2 years or both.
