Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The Minister may
appoint a person to act in the place of the member during any period when a
member is absent or unable to perform the functions of that office, or if the
office is vacant and is for the time being not filled, as the case requires,
and any person so appointed has, while so acting, all the functions and
entitlements of a member.
(2) Where a person is
to be appointed under subsection (1) to act in the place of a member, the
Minister shall first seek the advice of the relevant interest group.
