Western Australian Consolidated Acts Every environmental
health officer appointed under any repealed Act and acting as such immediately
prior to the commencement of this Act shall, unless he is the holder of a
qualifying certificate of competency which shall be approved by the Executive
Director, Public Health, obtain, within 12 months of the commencement of
this Act, such qualifying certificate of competency as may be approved by the
Executive Director, Public Health, and, after the expiration of such period of
12 months, no person shall be appointed or continue to be an
environmental health officer unless he is the holder of such a certificate as
aforesaid: Provided that the Executive Director, Public Health may exempt from
the operation of this section, for such time as he thinks fit, the office of
environmental health officer in any district.
