17 . Charge for access, applicant may request estimate of etc.
(1) When making the
access application the applicant may request an estimate of the charges that
might be payable for dealing with the application.
(2) If a request is
made under subsection (1) the agency has to notify the applicant of its
estimate, and the basis on which its estimate is made, as soon as is
practicable.
(3) If the agency
estimates that the charges for dealing with the access application might
exceed $25, or such greater amount as is prescribed, then, whether or not a
request has been made under subsection (1), the agency has to notify the
applicant of its estimate, and the basis on which its estimate is made, and
inquire whether the applicant wishes to proceed with the application and
notify the applicant of the requirement of section 19(1)(b).
