FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 1992 - SECT 109
109 . Personal information of another etc., obtaining access to by deceit etc. is offence
A person who, in order
to gain access to a document containing —
(a)
personal information about another person; or
(b)
information about the business, professional, commercial or financial affairs
of another person,
knowingly deceives or
misleads a person performing functions under this Act commits an offence.
Penalty:
(a) for
an individual — $6 000;
(b) for
a body corporate — $10 000.
