FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ACT 2006 - SECT 57
57 . Chief finance officers, designation and functions of
(1) The accountable
authority of an agency —
(a) is
to ensure that, for the agency, an office, post or position is designated
chief finance officer; and
(b) is
to advise the Treasurer and the Auditor General of the office, post or
position so designated.
(2) The chief finance
officer of an agency is responsible to the accountable authority for —
(a) the
preparation of financial information to facilitate the discharge of statutory
reporting obligations of the agency; and
(b) the
provision of advice on the effectiveness of accounting and financial
management information systems and financial controls in meeting the
requirements of the agency; and
(c) the
provision of advice concerning the financial implications of, and financial
risks to, the agency’s current and projected services; and
(d) the
development of strategic options for the future financial management and
capability of the agency; and
(e) the
development of financial management skills within the agency.
