131 . Effect of adoption, marriage or entering into de facto relationship — FLA s. 66V
(1) A child
maintenance order in relation to a child stops being in force if the child is
adopted, marries or enters into a de facto relationship.
(2) If a child to whom
a child maintenance order applies dies, is adopted, marries or enters into a
de facto relationship, the person entitled to receive payments under the order
must, without delay, inform the person liable to make payments under the
order.
(3) Any amounts paid
under a child maintenance order in relation to a period after the child dies,
is adopted, marries or enters into a de facto relationship may be recovered in
a court.
(4) A court may make a
declaration to the effect that a child is in, or has entered into, a de facto
relationship.
(5) A declaration
under subsection (4) has effect for the purposes of this Act but does not have
effect for any other purpose.
