ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT 1986 - SECT 77
77 . Vehicles and vessels, duties of owners etc. of
(1) A person who is
the owner or driver of a vehicle or vessel to which is fitted a device
referred to in section 78(1) and who does not maintain that device, or cause
it to be maintained, in an efficient condition commits an offence.
(2) A person who is
the owner or driver of a vehicle which is at the time of its use on a road,
public place or reserve capable of discharging into the atmosphere or any
waters any matter that does not comply with any standard prescribed for the
purposes of this subsection commits an offence.
(3) A person who is
the owner of a vessel which is capable of discharging into the atmosphere or
any waters any matter that does not comply with a standard prescribed for the
purposes of this subsection commits an offence.
