Western Australian Consolidated Acts The functions of the
University shall include the following —
(a) to
provide, on a full-time or part-time basis, courses of study appropriate to a
university to meet the needs of the community in this State;
(b) to
encourage and provide facilities for the development and improvement of
tertiary education;
(c) to
support and pursue research and scholarship and aid the advancement,
development, and practical applications to education, industry, commerce and
the community, of knowledge or any techniques;
(d) to
provide such courses of study as may be approved by the Council;
(e) to
foster the general welfare and development of all enrolled students;
(f) to
promote and encourage collaboration and consultation between the University
and other institutions and authorities to ensure the greatest effectiveness
and economy in expenditure and the most beneficial relationship between the
University and other educational institutions throughout the State; and
(g) to
provide such facilities relating to its functions as the Council thinks
necessary or conducive to their attainment.
